Senior Software Engineer

– ref. “PE_Software E_2017”

Main responsibilities

  • Develop applications and software components for back-end and communication middleware, running on embedded Linux platforms and Linux servers;
  • Enhance application performance with extensive use of high-performance computing technologies and distributed database;
  • Promote new technologies, proactively looking at innovative applications.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer science or equivalent discipline;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in C/C ++ development and test;
  • Proven experience in software development on Linux and Linux embedded operating systems;
  • Wide knowledge of software engineering methodologies: lifecycle, quality assurance and testing techniques;
  • Knowledge of key software development tools and different languages (Java, SQL, XML, PHP, Python);
  • Knowledge of main network protocols and graphical user interfaces;
  • Database engineering and optimization;
  • Knowledge of IoT platforms as a plus;
  • Italian mother tongue, proficient in English. German and French would be a plus.

HARDWARE DESIGN TEAM LEADER

Main responsibilities

  • Reporting to the COO, coordinate the Hardware Design team and the full lifecycle of Paradox Engineering’s hardware product range (low power, RF and mixed signals smart devices);
  • Monitor market trends and competitors, in coordination with other Company’s functions, to support the CTO in defining the roadmap of hardware products evolution and new developments;
  • Define hardware requirements, technical system specifications and applicable regulation for new products;
  • Coordinate and actively support (documentation, schematics, BOM, technical design review, laboratory and field tests, failure analysis, products certification, production testing specification and yield control) the hardware design team over the entire product lifecycle;
  • Reinforce and improve hardware design methodology (procedures, design flow, tools, quality control, documentation);
  • Supervise development budget (cost, effort, schedule), final product production costs and quality control;
  • Supervise internal lab (organization, new instruments budget, other instruments maintenance) and external activities cost control;
  • Ensure a proper team coordination, technical and individual growth;
  • Proactively collaborate with Software, Customers&Sales Support and Marketing functions to achieve Company’s business targets.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Electronics Engineering, or equivalent discipline;
  • 12+ years of proven working experience in relevant engineering environment;
  • Consolidated experience in RF, mixed signal, PCBA design, test and certification;
  • Consolidated experience in power supply design (AC/DC, DC/DC, High Voltage Surge and ESD protection circuit), digital embedded design (32 bits microcontroller, USB, ETH, SPI/I2C), analogue signals conversion (ADC/DAC), mixed signal and Sub-GHz RF design;
  • Knowledge of low power electronic system design techniques;
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, electromagnetic interference and compatibility issues management;
  • Knowledge of main communication and wireless protocols;
  • Good knowledge of certification process support for wireless products (ETSI, FCC, ARIB);
  • Use of the main design and layout CAD Tools and laboratory electronic instrumentations;
  • Knowledge of firmware programming (C/C++);
  • Proficient both in English and Italian.

Main responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Hardware Director, follow the full product development lifecycle, from specification to design, test, validation and certification steps, driven by applicable regulations;
  • Define technical system specifications;
  • Manage schematics design and PCB layout (including components selection, libraries creation, review of application and normative constraints);
  • Plan and execute lab tests, supporting external labs for system certifications;
  • Analyse returned materials to identify failure root causes e potential design/test improvements.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Electronics Engineering, or equivalent discipline;
  • 5+ years of proven working experience in relevant engineering environment;
  • Knowledge of main communication and wireless protocols;
  • Knowledge of certification process support for wireless products (ETSI, FCC, ARIB);
  • Knowledge of firmware programming (C/C++);
  • Proven experience in RF (Sub-GHz) and mixed signal systems design, test and certification;
  • Proven experience in signal integrity, electromagnetic interference and compatibility issues management;
  • Proven experience in antennas’ design, simulations and matching;
  • Proven experience in low power electronics design;
  • Use of Altium Designer (schematic + PCB), PSpice, ANSYS HFSS and similar CAD Tools;
  • Use of the main laboratory electronic instrumentations required to test embedded, mixed signals, RF systems and antennas’ performance;
  • Proficient both in English and Italian.
