Our Vision for Smarter Cities

We recognise interoperability as the foundation for smart cities.
Based on authoritative industry standards, our IoT solutions are
accessible, adaptable, and ready for the future, empowering cities
to stay ahead of the curve while maintaining flexibility and
independence from proprietary systems.

Interoperability

Why standards matters

As a technology provider who has always been agnostic to the application, we focus on the development of smart IoT networks supporting different field devices and third-party systems, independently of the maker.

The starting point to design an interoperable network is to move away from proprietary technologies and choose standard-based solutions and open data models. Not everyone knows that smart city projects using proprietary technology cost 30% more than those using open technology, since they are more complex, have a higher risk of obsolescence and a poorer return on investment.

Beyond generating cost saving, interoperability allows cities to head for truly shared growth, turning efficiency-oriented investments into opportunities for sustainable, inclusive development by engaging citizens and local stakeholders in open innovation cases.

Openness

Interoperable by design

We develop cutting-edge Smart Lighting and Smart City technologies that are designed with openness in mind. We deliver interoperability at two levels:

  1. The data model – the key features of our products are designed according to Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) specifications and the uCIFI Data Model. The standardization allows smooth communication and integration between connected systems while enhancing data integrity and quality.
  2. The network – through TALQ and LwM2M protocols we ensure that our devices can be monitored and controlled remotely either from our central management software, or from third-party platforms.

Our Smart Lighting nodes are also DALI-2 and D4i certified.

We support different connectivity options, which can be integrated in the same IoT platform to enable and remotely control street lighting, parking facilities, solid waste collection, environmental monitoring, and other urban services using open and standard data models to allow full interoperability in device, data and application management.

Integrability

Partners of Technology Vendors

Our interoperable, standard-based solutions are designed for seamless integration. Our Smart Lighting nodes enhance existing or newly installed LED streetlights, turning them into intelligent, connected assets within wireless urban networks. Technology vendors can easily integrate our solutions into their portfolio, building on past investments to address new business opportunities with minimal effort.

Beyond street lighting, the potential for expansion is vast. Lighting infrastructure is a perfect foundation for open, connected communities. Our interoperable technologies enable cities to control and connect a wide range of smart applications, sensors, and devices, addressing urban challenges and improving everyday life.

With our standard-based solutions, there are no limits on integrating third-party sensors or developing new services, helping smart cities to grow step by step.
