Parking has been considered a problem for several decades due to the increasing number of private vehicles and the limited number of parking bays in city centers, airports, shopping malls, etc. Some of the common problems associated with parking are additional cruising, congestion, noise and air pollution, and driver frustration linked to the lack of parking bays and the time spent in finding an available space.

Abusive parking and lost parking revenues are also consequences of poor parking management: electric vehicle owners for instance often find it difficult to recharge their vehicles as the designated parking areas are occupied abusively by non electric vehicles.

The lack of available parking is a well-known issue for professional drivers too. Finding resting areas can be challenging for Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) and couch drivers, who are required to periodically stop and rest.

Our Smart Parking Sensors allow municipalities and parking operators to remotely monitor and control parking facilities via a central management software, collecting and taking advantage of a full range of parking-related data, such as the number of available lots in a specific area, the duration of each parking and possible abuses (i.e. vehicles exceeding time limits, unauthorized parking in disabled spots or in electrical vehicle charging stations, etc.). 

Parking data can feed mobile apps, variable message panels and traffic guidance systems​ for better parking management and a stress-free driving experience. By connecting the data to a mobile app, for instance, drivers can easily identify an available parking bay, thus reducing idle driving and the related fuel consumption, air and noise pollution, waste of time and stress. 

Historical data can also be used to better plan the redevelopment of a city, providing invaluable data on parking usage and patterns: city managers could plan urban redevelopment by adding parking spots where usage is higher, or reconverting under-used parking areas in public parks or other facilities towards a more liveable city.

Our vehicle detection sensors represent the simplest, cost-effective and reliable way to detect if a parking space is occupied by a vehicle. Our two types of sensors – Above and Under ground – can be used in off-street and on-street car parking, multi-storey parks, and electric vehicles charging stations. They support 6LoWPAN and grant over 99% detection accuracy. The sensors can stand harsh weather conditions and have a battery lasting up to 10 years. Smart Repeaters and Smart Gateways enable data collection.

Hardware security module and strong data encryption ensure data protection, safe storage, and trusted network communication. Security features are available without additional cost.

Specific Smart Parking Sensors are available for truck and couch rest areas located along highways, in logistic districts, or dedicated facilities.
