Technology Vision

We are riding the Internet of Things as the natural
evolution of the Internet. Thanks to a unique blend
of competences, we design and engineer open-to-standard
interoperable solutions to unleash opportunities for people
and communities through digital information.

Full Scale
Solution

We develop full scale solutions, which include hardware components as well as cloud software, all elements that include high technological skills. Our engineers work effortlessly to optimise, automate, and monitor the full solution’s lifecycle management, from cloud software applications to embedded devices.
Our solution is developed with a security-by-design and by default approach, and it is thoroughly tested with automatic and manual techniques to offer a reliable and trustworthy solution.

Connectivity and Openness

From Smart to Open Cities

Our Smart Urban Network provides cities a unified, interoperable infrastructure to manage both wireless IoT and wireless highspeed IoT networks, enabling any kind of sensor based or high-bandwidth applications. This allows cities to connect and control a number of smart applications, sensors and actuators, solving major urban challenges and needs.

Our technologies are open to standards and impose no limits to the integration of third-party sensors or the design of new services to extend our Smart Urban Network.

We support different connectivity options, which can be integrated in the same IoT platform to enable and remotely control street lighting, parking facilities, solid waste collection, environmental monitoring, and other urban services using open and standard data models to allow full interoperability in device, data and application management.

Our Approach
Security-by-Design and by-default Approach

Our engineers work together with our Security Operation Centre to integrate secure design and make our systems as free of vulnerabilities-and resistant to attacks as possible already from the development phase of both hardware and software components.

Interoperability

Multi-application and open standards

As a technology provider who has always been agnostic to the application, we focus on the development of smart IoT networks supporting different field devices and third-party systems, independently of the maker.

The starting point to design an interoperable network is to move away from proprietary technologies and choose standard-based solutions and open data models. Not everyone knows that smart city projects using proprietary technology cost 30% more than those using open technology, since they are more complex, duplicate implementation and maintenance efforts, have a higher risk of obsolescence and a poorer return on investment.

Beyond generating cost saving, interoperability allows cities to head for truly shared growth, turning efficiency-oriented investments into opportunities for sustainable, inclusive development by engaging citizens and local stakeholders in open innovation cases.

Our commitment to interoperability

Standards and Alliances

Open standards and interoperability have always been part of Paradox Engineering’s technology vision and approach to Smart Cities and Internet of Things. We believe that a unified data model for open wireless networks will unlock Smart City IoT projects for the good of citizens, communities and industries: this is the reason why Paradox Engineering supports and promotes uCIFI® Alliance as a real opportunity for massive adoption of smart city solutions.

uCIFI® Alliance

Active members of the uCIFI® Alliance, we advocate open standards and are committed to create multi supplier, interoperable solutions for cities and other smart environments.

Wi-SUN Alliance

We are a Contributor Member of the Wi-SUN Alliance, proudly contributing to the standardization and interoperability of secure, Industrial IoT communications networks.

LoRa Alliance

As members of the LoRa Alliance, we collaborate with other device makers, solution providers, system integrators and network operators, delivering interoperability needed to scale IoT across the globe.

DALI Alliance

As Associate Member of the DALi Alliance, we have sought and received DALI-2 and D4i Certification for our Smart Lighting Node – Zhaga version.

TALQ Consortium

We are active member of the TALQ working groups, participate in “Plug Fest Events” and test our products to verify they are compatible with other TALQ certified products. Our Smart Gateway and Smart CMS have proven to be compliant with the TALQ protocol and have been certified in 2021.
